Who We Are

About Lakay Acces Sante

Lakay Accès Santé is a nonprofit organization, recognized under Section 501(c)(3), built to mobilize, empower, and connect underserved individuals and communities with the health services and resources they deserve.

We do this work hand in hand with our communities and a network of trusted partners, because informed, connected people build healthier neighborhoods together.

Join Our Mission
Our Mission

Close the Gap

Our mission is simple: close the gap between people and the care they deserve.

We promote health equity and social justice through community efforts that improve access to quality healthcare and human services for Haitians and underserved populations.

We put our energy where the need is greatest: with the people carrying the heaviest burden of illness and facing the highest barriers to care.

Our History

Our History

We are a team of health professionals, many of us immigrants, refugees, and exiles from countries including Haiti, united by one fight: health equity and social justice.

Our paths crossed in classrooms, hospital hallways, and health institutions. We know what it feels like to arrive in a new country and find the door to care harder to open.

That experience became our purpose. We came together, pooled our expertise, and built Lakay Accès Santé as a home for that fight: a place where lived experience turns into action.

Our Vision

What We Envision

We envision thriving communities where health is not a privilege, where every person can get the care they need, free from discrimination and without fear of financial ruin.

How We Work

  • Community Mobilization

We go to where our community already lives, worships, learns, and gathers — at health fairs, churches, ESL classes, and community events — speaking the languages they speak and respecting the realities they are navigating.

  • Health Education

We turn complex health information into practical, culturally and linguistically relevant knowledge, so people can make informed decisions about their own care.

  • Partnership

We build lasting relationships with health departments, churches, clinics, and community organizations, because real, sustained change takes a village.

We are pioneers in Health Care

Our Services

Haitian immigrants, refugees, and their families are our founding and primary community

More broadly, we serve underserved and marginalized individuals who face barriers to healthcare because of immigration status, low income, race, color, culture, religion, sex, gender, age, disability, or geographic location.
